Pin Numbers & Passwords
By now you’ve
probably discovered that the Saline County Library has gone to a new system
called Polaris. Polaris has many features that the old system did not offer
such as requiring a pin number (password) in order to view your account.
If you are a regular user of our computer labs the four digit number that
you use along with your library card is the pin/password that you use to access
your account. If you are not a user of our computer labs and do not have
a pin number, in order to access your account just simply input your library
card number and use the last four digits of the telephone number that the
library has on file for you. If you are still unable to access your account
you may call either library and have it entered into your account.
Once you have accessed your account you have the capabilities of changing
your password, select how you want to receive hold, overdue and late fee
notices; which are by phone or email. You also have the option to keep a
record of your READING HISTORY, which is simply a record of all the items
you have checked out or read.
